In Suggest a Resource
We are here to serve and produce resources that are useful to teachers. In the past I have been guilty of creating projects, only to find that the interest was not great enough and another subject would have been better focusing on. This is not only disappointing but also frustrating that I got it wrong. Nowadays though with all this technology we can really target your needs and generate what you are looking for. So if you are missing resources or would like us to consider creating something unique, or just require additional resources for certain subjects, post the details here and we can generate a conversation and measure who else needs these resources and produce content that is bespoke to our members. If you see content that other's have posted that you would find useful, like their post, or comment, so the videos we create have been guided by you to keep them relevant and engaging. Just let us know what you need or suggest what you'd like, and we will as one captain maintained, 'Make it so'

I will have recently contacted you to join us and I sincerely welcome you to Teacher Central and thank you once again for your support. But as we reconnect with past members of PSHE News, one at a time, of which there are just under two thousand, it is likely that you are one of the first to arrive at Teacher Central and will feel like the first to the party and I know just how daunting that can be. But please, take a leap of faith and start posting in the categories and others will follow. It's sort of like making a nice welcome for people when they first land so nobody feels like they are alone. I know from talking to many PSHE teachers that this can be a subject where you feel quite isolated so please feel free to welcome others by posting your stories, questions or anything you find of interest. If there is anything you need help with get in touch, this community will only be built on the needs of the very people it was created for. Thank you for joining us! Talk to you soon, Andrew

In PSHE
For those members who have followed me before over the years, you will already know about my passion and frustration of the the subject of PSHE. Even now, I still believe the subject of PSHE is seen as a second rate subject and it frustrates the hell out of me when people don't see that PSHE is the bedrock to all young people's learning. If you have a happy young person, then you have an engaged learner. I am sad to say that after the current pandemic there is a wave of problems heading our way which will be with us for years and it is PSHE that will be there to support young people where other subjects cannot. I appreciate that some PSHE teachers have been put in position by default (The PE or Biology teacher comes to mind) and with others they were just standing in the wrong place at the wrong time and just happened to sneeze when someone asked who wants to volunteer for PSHE? And then you have the die hard passionate PSHE teachers who would crawl over hot coals to lift this subject onto the worthy platform it deserves. Whatever your reason for being in PSHE, I'm afraid we need to prepare for the tsunami of mental health problems and learning difficulties that are on their way and PSHE will be the most important support to many young people's lives in the future, and your holding the baton! We will use this section to help others, post problems, offer solutions, and guide and support our PSHE community so we can weather any storm that lands on our shores. I thank you in advance for your contributions.

In Books that Inspired Me
The best way to seek inspiration and keep your reading list powerful, is through recommendation, and it is here where we invite members to post their recommended books that have inspired them and maybe give a little bit of information as to why. The books can be anything, they maybe teaching books that have helped in the classroom, books that have caused personal transformations, or just a really good story that has filled your heart. Whatever it is, this is the place to share it. As an avid reader I look forward to seeing what has inspired others and hopefully add a few more titles to my reading list and offer you the first book that turned my whole life around. In my twenties I was a very lost individual not really knowing where my life was going, confused, feeling like something was dragging me in a certain direction but not quite knowing where. For me, it was the Cellestine Prophecy by James Redfield that started to turn my world around and offer me a concept of looking at the world that would challenge how I had been living my life. After saying that, I don't recommend the film, I thought it was awful, please don't spoil the book by watching it. For those looking for something light, but truly meaningful, I think you may just have found your next good read. Andrew x
